FAQ

Frequently asked questions
about Gluebots

Everything you want to know about our patented glue robots.

What is a Gluebot?

A Gluebot is an automated glue robot developed by Kepler-Labs that works with standard commercial tubes. The system replaces manual adhesive application with a controlled, reproducible process.

Which adhesive types are compatible?

Gluebots work with both 1K and 2K adhesive systems, regardless of viscosity. Think epoxy, polyurethane, silicone, acrylate and more. The system adapts automatically via recipe management.

Is a Gluebot suitable for my application?

Gluebots are deployed in automotive, electronics, medical devices and general manufacturing. Contact us for a no-obligation feasibility analysis.

How fast is the return on investment?

Depending on your production and application, we typically see ROI within 6 to 18 months, thanks to higher output, less waste and lower operator dependency.

What are the health benefits?

Manual gluing involves exposure to harmful fumes and skin contact with chemicals. A Gluebot completely eliminates these risks — a direct improvement of working conditions.

Can I do a test first?

Yes. Through our in-house lab, we build a Proof of Concept with your product and adhesive type. You only pay upon successful results.

How is the Gluebot controlled?

Via an intuitive HMI screen with digital work instructions, recipe management and real-time feedback. Operators need no programming knowledge.

Do you offer maintenance and support?

Yes. We offer preventive maintenance, remote support and SLA contracts. Your production keeps running.

Do Gluebots also work with UV adhesives?

Yes. Our Gluebots are compatible with UV-curing adhesive systems. The dosing system is suitable for typical UV adhesive viscosities and can be combined with a UV curing lamp in the robot cell for inline curing directly after application.

What are the advantages of bonding compared to welding or screwing?

Bonding distributes the load evenly across the entire surface — no point loading as with welding or screwing. It also joins dissimilar materials (metal to plastic, glass to composite), dampens vibrations, is watertight and does not damage the surface. Ideal for lightweight constructions and visible joints.

Which adhesive tube brands is the Gluebot compatible with?

Our Gluebots are manufacturer-independent en work with standard commercial tubes from Sika, Soudal, Araldite, Acralock, Novatio, Plexus and many other brands. You choose the best adhesive for your application — no vendor lock-in.

Which robot is used in a Gluebot?

Our Gluebots are built on 6-axis Fairino cobots — compact, affordable and safe robots that can work alongside the operator without guarding. The 6 axes provide full freedom of movement for complex 3D adhesive paths.

How accurate is the dosing?

The patented force-controlled dosing system continuously measures the actual force on the plunger and controls dosing in a closed loop. The result: constant bead width and height, independent of temperature, viscosity changes or tube fill level.

Can the Gluebot also seal or pot?

Ja. Besides bonding, the Gluebot is also used for sealing applications (sealing joints and seams) en potting (encapsulation of electronic components). The dosing system is flexible enough for all these applications.

Is the Gluebot suitable for cleanroom or food-safe environments?

The Fairino cobots are available in cleanroom versions and meet the necessary hygiene standards. Contact us to discuss the possibilities for your specific environment.

How long does installation take?

A standard Gluebot cell is typically operational within 2 to 4 weeks — including programming, calibration and operator training. More complex multi-robot setups may take longer depending on integration requirements.

Can I partner with Kepler-Labs as an adhesive manufacturer?

Absolutely. We are open to partnerships with adhesive manufacturers who want to validate their products on our Gluebots. Contact us to discuss the possibilities.
